Yucky sicknesses

Well, things have been going slow around here.  Lots of sickness.  First, Matthew had what looked like an infected rash on his arm.  It ended up being eczema, and it had a secondary infection.  He got over that, and then got strep throat with an ear infection.  Sam had strep throat and a double ear infection at the same time.  Then, while he was still on the antibiotics, he got very sick--which was so strange because it hit really fast!  It was last Saturday, and he got up and was so excited to go to the "grand opening" of the village ice rink.  They were going to have a cook out!!  By noon, he was complaining of a terrible headache, and he had a very high fever.  By late afternoon, he was vomiting, and didn't look like he was going to stop.  We called the nurse hotline, and they told us to get him into ER.  So, we were there for over 4 hours.  First, they gave him some Zophran to stop the vomiting.  We had to wait a while for that to take effect.  Then, they gave him Tylenol, hoping to bring down the fever.  That wasn't working for quite some time, and they wanted to wait to make sure he was all right.  They finally let us go home after midnight.  Poor hubby had to preach the next morning!!  He finished up his antibiotics (still from the strep throat) on Monday.  By Saturday, he had strep throat again (and he was cleared by the doctor one week before).   Now, today, Rachel took Gracelyn into the doctor--Rachel thought Gracie had an ear infection.  I told her to have them check for strep, and sure enough, it was positive.

Aside from that, we have been busy with the Last Supper production.  I bought some guard costumes.  I am looking for something to firm up the helmets, as one came cracked.  Also, I needed to make some capes for the breastplates.  I bought a LOT of sheets at a 2nd hand store.  The lady said that we must have a lot of beds, which we do, but I told her I was going to cut them up for costumes, and that it is cheaper to buy sheets, than to buy fabric at a fabric store.  She thought it was a great idea.  I have only made one other costume.  I found a you tube video on how to make Bible costumes in 5 minutes without sewing.  I am not using the glue, I am sewing them, to make them a bit sturdier.  I also want to rough up, and dirty up, two of the costumes of the guys who will be crucified.

I am using my c pap machine.  It is hard to get used to sleeping with a mask on my face.

We survived having Elise for a couple days, while her parents went to the Dells.  She did great the first day, and night, but the 2nd night was a bit much for her.  She is such a sweetheart!  Gracie, on the other hand, had a bit of a problem sharing her turf with another!  She did finally get used to having her there, but the first day, she kept bringing her hat to Elise, as if to say, ok, time to go.
